Gifts of Healings

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being with the Church in Peterborough. I felt while I was there the Lord wanted to activate people in the gifts of the Spirit. Throughout the morning, a few people brought prophetic words and words of knowledge from the Holy Spirit. I had felt that I needed to pray for someone who had hearing loss. A beautiful young lady was brought to the front that had two hearing aids and could barely hear normal conversation from two feet away without them. Her mom took out the hearing aids and I laid my hands on her and prayed. No apparent result. I laid my hands on her ears and prayed again. Nothing… Two other people in the congregation felt the Lord say to anoint her ears with oil. This was done with no evidence of healing except our faith in God’s promise. (Isaiah 53:4, 1Pet2:24) I could have walked away from that situation, discouraged or embarrassed. But if it’s not about you, and about the people your praying for, there’s no reason for embarrassment is there…?! Well praise God I just got a report from a person from the Church. They said this girl has been to the doctor and they had to recalibrate her hearing aids because her hearing is being restored…! Isn’t our God awesome..! You do what God prompts you to do by His Spirit and let god take care of bringing it to pass. It’s our obedience and His power…! I am believing that this girl is soon not going to need hearing aids any more…! Thank you Jesus for the power of your name..!

Another person comes to Christ..!

I want to introduce you to the latest member of the Body of Christ (That I know of). Lauren gave her life to Jesus last Sunday. She was baptized this past Tuesday night(In our tub!)and is wonderously and gloriously saved! Praise God. Only a few months ago Lauren was in hospital. Our Church prayed for her and she was out of hospital and in the meeting the next week. Last Sunday was her time and she responded to God's word and received Christ as her Lord and Savior. She is a new creation! Old things have passed away and all things have become new...! Lauren; what a future you have..!

It just keeps getting better..!

One other caveat to Sunday’s meeting with the Church that I just found out yesterday. After Steve Wilkins preached, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to get people to write down exactly what God had challenged them with through his word. After people did this, Elvis Henry, another wonderful man in our Church, asked a lady to come forward because God had a prophetic word for her. A few people brought words of encouragement to her and she was obviously touched by Holy Spirit. What is even more awesome about this is that she wrote down the very words that were repeated back to her when she was called to the front. Isn’t God so good? The Holy Spirit is so able to minister his life and love to people as we yield ourselves to his voice. Praise Him…!

Great time together today in God's house. Jesus is alive and speaking to His Church about all he has purposed to achieve as we do His word. Now our job is to align ourselves with God's word so that His purpose will be fulfilled. Steve Wilkins spoke well from the illustration of Israel's change from wilderness walking to Promised Land dwelling and hit on seven key points. Two points that struck me were changing the way we drink and changing the way we eat. Moses struck a rock to quench Israel's thirst, but we now have "streams of living water" that are perpetual refreshment for us to fulfill God's purpose and that we need to go from times of crisis drinking to a life style of Holy Spirit saturation. Secondly, manna was maintenance food with no seed in it, but in the Promised Land people had to begin to feed themselves as God empowered them to conquer. Steve's word to us was both affirming and challenging. The Holy Spirit also powerfully ministered to a few people as His gifts were manifested. It really was a terrific morning together. Now we have all this week to walk it out....!

Well...good morning eveyone. Praise the Lord that we woke up. Another day that he has created. This is my first go at blogging which I hope will be a blessing to me and you. Interesting scripture I came across yesterday that really spoke to me. It's 1John 5:21 NLT. It says, "Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts." This could be anything really, Church issues, a job, a disappointment, a sickness, great success. "Keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts." What a great encouragement! Jesus is the only one who has life. Only those who have Jesus have life. Don't let anything take Jesus place in your heart. Don't have any other God's before you today. Set apart Jesus as Lord in your hearts and enjoy the peace and joy that only His loving government can bring.

Be blessed!
