Faith Pleases God

Hebrews 11:13 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance.

I was stirred by Hebrews 11 recently, and especially verse 13. It says here that many of the people who walked by faith, never saw the total fulfillment of what they were believing God for in their lifetime.

As the Holy Spirit was ministering this scripture to me, I felt the Lord tell me not to worry so much about specific goals that I am believing His word for, but no matter what the circumstances I find myself in, to always have an attitude of faith and trust in Him.

Sometimes when we are believing God's word for something specific, that can be all we see. We're believing for healing in our bodies, financial breakthrough or the salvation of a loved one. Nothing wrong with that. We're believing God for revival and to be used in the gifts of the Spirit. Awesome..! But regardless of those specific faith goals we have, we are to have a faith attitude towards God no matter if we ever see these things in manifestation in our lifetime. What really pleases God, I believe, is that I have faith in Him.

So where are you today? Are you living in disappointment over something that never came to pass..? I want to encourage you. According to Hebrews 11:13, many righteous men and women never saw the total fulfillment of what they were believing for in their lifetime either. Yet they still believed God and walked through their lives believing. Our faith is bigger than this lifetime. Don't get snared over past disappointments. It's time again to rise up in faith and trust the Lord who is leading you through this life. What pleases God is your faith and trust in Him. Don't let anything throw you off track. Have faith in God..!

Our Deliverer has come..!

1Sam 17
57After David had killed Goliath, Abner brought him to Saul with the Philistine's head still in his hand. 58"Tell me about your father, my boy," Saul said.

I came across this scripture the other day and found it stirring. Kind of a gross description, but David was still carrying around Goliath's head in his hand; long after the giant was dead. This was a prophetic sign to God's people at that time that David had not only taken out the enemy, but that Goliath would no longer have headship over them again. Instantly I thought of Thomas' encounter with the risen Jesus in John 20.

26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

I was encouraged that Jesus still has those 2000 year old scars in his hands and a pierced side to remind us that what he did on Calvary eternally crushed Satan's authority over God's people. Jesus is the head over every principality and power.(Col 2:10) No matter what you are facing today, if you know Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life, you are always praying from a place of victory. You and I are seated in heavenly places with Christ(Eph 2:6) who is at the right hand of majesty on high.(Heb 1:3) Remember that today. Meditate on it until it becomes alive to you again. Remind the enemy that he is a defeated foe because of the cross of Christ. Remind the Lord and yourself of who you are in Him. The Devil has lost his headship!

I Repent...!

This has been more than just a blogging break.! My appologies. Do you know that if you are a Christian, the blessing of ABRAHAM is upon you. Galatians 3:13-15 says that because of Jesus going to the cross for us, the curse of the law has been replaced by the Blessing of God. Take some time and look at Adam, and Abraham. Before they increased, God blessed them! It's the blessing of God that is the primary reason we are able to increase in every area of life. Check it out. You'll be blessed because you are blessed..!

"Obedience is better" 1Sam 15:22

Wow. What a beautiful day today. I was walking up Elgin Street to do some banking and get some lunch when I noticed a workmate on the side walk.(He was upright, not fallen!) A conversation ensued. We talked about what the weekend plans would hold and so on; about how good it is to get out in the sunshine during a run. My friend then said his running was beginning to come to an end because of a bum knee. Immediately as he said this I had a pain in my right knee. I asked him, "is it your right knee"? He said, "Yes". We kept walking along. I was now wondering what I was going to do. We parted company, I did my errands and was returning to work, but I just couldn't shake the sense that God wanted to heal my friend. So I determined to write him an email when I got back to work telling him that I would be praying for his knee. I sent the email, he thanked me in reply. That didn't shake the feeling. Then the Holy Spirit said. Go lay your hands on him and pray. OK. I finished my lunch, went to his office and asked him if I could pray for his knee. He said yes, I laid my hands on his knee and said, "Father, in the name of Jesus heal this knee". That was it. I waiting now for the report from my friend of what Jesus will do with this seed of obedience. Obedience; there's no substitute.

Be blessed.

We are as He is, even in this world..!

I have come across this verse in 1John 4:17 that I have found encouraging and astounding to meditate on. The context of this verse is living a life of Love; letting love have the run of the house. (The Message) As we do this and let the love of God become perfected and mature in us.... are you ready for this... We become as Christ is, even in this world. Just as Christ is right now, I am. Not when I get to heaven, but right now...even in this world...! Think of how Christ is right now. Free, healed, sin free, full of joy, full of love, prosperous, a conqueror...! Let this verse in its context roll over and over again in your mind and in your spirit. When you lay hands on the sick, it's just like Jesus laying His hands on them. When you need something from your Heavenly Father, you have Jesus standing with Him, even in this world, to ask anything according to His will and expect to receive it. All for His glory...! I am challenged to live this way. How about you...?

Be blessed

Gifts of Healings

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being with the Church in Peterborough. I felt while I was there the Lord wanted to activate people in the gifts of the Spirit. Throughout the morning, a few people brought prophetic words and words of knowledge from the Holy Spirit. I had felt that I needed to pray for someone who had hearing loss. A beautiful young lady was brought to the front that had two hearing aids and could barely hear normal conversation from two feet away without them. Her mom took out the hearing aids and I laid my hands on her and prayed. No apparent result. I laid my hands on her ears and prayed again. Nothing… Two other people in the congregation felt the Lord say to anoint her ears with oil. This was done with no evidence of healing except our faith in God’s promise. (Isaiah 53:4, 1Pet2:24) I could have walked away from that situation, discouraged or embarrassed. But if it’s not about you, and about the people your praying for, there’s no reason for embarrassment is there…?! Well praise God I just got a report from a person from the Church. They said this girl has been to the doctor and they had to recalibrate her hearing aids because her hearing is being restored…! Isn’t our God awesome..! You do what God prompts you to do by His Spirit and let god take care of bringing it to pass. It’s our obedience and His power…! I am believing that this girl is soon not going to need hearing aids any more…! Thank you Jesus for the power of your name..!
